September Round Robin
With a ring of the bell at 1.30pm John Smith, who organised the Round Robin, called the players to order. John said that the competition should finish at 5.22pm. John again called the players to order in order to announce the results – the time precisely 5.22pm!!
This time 16 players entered the competition. After an afternoon’s bowling a splendid Jacob’s Join afternoon tea was enjoyed by everyone.
Louise and Charles were the winners. Helen and Robin, Margaret and Martin tied on 9 points each. It was decided that a sudden death tie-break was needed at which point the club house emptied as everyone poured outside to watch the result. Robin and Helen won the tie-break and therefore were the runners-up.
